James started playing drums at the tender age of 12 and, shortly after, developed a love for jazz and big bands. Having played in various ensembles at school where he also studied music, he then joined the prestigious Doncaster Youth Jazz Association and started his professional career. He has performed in a wide range of musical genres all across the UK and abroad on tours, cruise ships and live TV.
