Wendy studied classical piano as a child, being one of the first recipients of a bursary from Derbyshire Music which paid for her lessons up to grade 8. Following this, she earned money playing in bands as a keyboardist whilst studying for a Mechanical Engineering degree, but then after graduating returned to music by formalising her jazz studies with Sheffield Jazz.
She has performed at major venues such as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Lichfield Festival, Southport Festival and continues to do so.
Her influences are Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie and many more.
